Process for Custom Orders Only

Once your quote is accepted, an invoice will be sent to secure your booking and start the process.
A non-refundable 50% deposit is due for all orders. The remaining balance will need to be paid prior to releasing artwork or commencing print production.
Design proofs will only be commenced once the 50% deposit is paid and cleared.

Artwork Proofs

We will be in touch to collate any wording, references, colours and other information needed to commence the design process.
Please check the information you submit to us as we will be using it on your design.
We include 3 revisions.
For any design that includes copy, the revisions included in the quote are: ink colour and copy changes.
For any design that includes illustrations, the revisions included in the quote are: minor outfit changes such as details on outfit or shoes, colour of outfit or shape of outfit, colour of skin, hair or eyes.
Prior to commencing the colour stage of the illustration process, we will provide a draft outline for you to approve. Any major changes such as pose change or hairstyle, need to be made during the draft phase.
Once colour has commenced, major changes can be made however are subject to an additional cost. This will need to be discussed based on changes required. Please check the draft proof carefully to avoid this.
Each additional revision is $55 per revision. This must be paid prior to starting the additional changes.

Illustrations

All illustration orders are drawn in Mel’s signature style. Her style is evident on her website and social media.
Mel’s signature style consists of an elongated curvy figure and a realistic face. Her style is an imitation of the person in the photo provided, it is not an accurate representation of the person. She aims to draw face portraits as close to the image as possible, please choose carefully.
Once the draft outline is approved, and colour has commenced you can make revisions to the style/pose however you will be subjected to an additional cost.
Mel is also able to draw a more accurate representation of a photo, please notify us at the start of the process if you prefer this style.
We strictly do not amend or distort our illustration style in any shape or form.
Do not ask Mel to imitate another illustrators style.

Printing

Please ensure you have ordered the correct quantity, style and size. We suggest ordering spares as we cannot add or amend your order once printing has commenced.
We will only begin print production once final proofs have been approved and signed off.

Timelines

Printing: please allow 4 weeks turnaround including shipping. Design/illustrations: 2-3 weeks
Depending on the complexity of your order, the first proof will be sent within 4-5 business days. Any illustrations please allow 12-14 days.
Also note, any design changes/additional revisions will effect the turnaround time.
We are able to process rush orders/priority orders however rush orders are subject to an additional cost.

Stock

At times certain card stock or envelope options may be on back order. In this instance, we will be in touch with an alternative suitable option for you.

Colour

Ink colour may differ slightly once printed on card stock or another media. The digital screen colour is not always an accurate representation of the true colour when printed on media. We always strive to achieve the same colour tone as close to the proof as possible.

Envelopes

If you have ordered printing on the front of envelope and would like to add guests addresses and names. We require an Excel spreadsheet with these details. We will not be liable to any incorrect information provided on the spreadsheet.
The columns in the spreadsheet need to be in this order: Name, Street, City/State, Postcode, Country. Please ensure to thoroughly check all details in the spreadsheet for spelling. Do not send spreadsheets that are not finalised.

Returns

All orders are non-refundable and non-exchangeable as each order is custom made to order.
We do not offer returns or exchanges on orders that have been sent to print, printed or designed. If in an instance, your order looks different to your proofs approved, in reason, we will reprint your order or issue a credit to the error value. This does not include colour differences,
We are not to be held responsible for any errors with the printed artwork that you, the client, approved. If you require a reprint due to this, the cost of reprint will be covered by you, the client.

Damaged/Lost Orders

If your order arrives damaged, we will be held responsible. We take pride in ensuring your order is packaged carefully.
We are not to be held responsible for any invitation envelopes returned or lost by Post after you, the client, have mailed them out.

Copyright

Illustrated by Mel owns all artwork and copyright related to your order.
The client will not reproduce any artwork supplied to them unless discussed with the artist, Mel.
The final artwork files are not included in the order and are only available to buy out once discussed with the designer, Mel. This may be subject to an additional fee.
Illustrated by Mel retain the right to post any designs from your order on our website and social media.
Illustrated by Mel retain the right to reproduce any designs.
We strictly do not disclose design fonts. Do not ask for the names of fonts. We protect our intellectual property.
Usage will need to be discussed with the client prior to commencing design. Illustrated by Mel can limit usage by territory, time and platform.
In an instance, Illustrated by Mel may decide to transfer ownership of designs to you, the client.

Errors

Please check your final proof carefully. The responsibility for correct spelling and accurate information is with you, the client.
Illustrated by Mel will not be held responsible for any spelling or grammar errors after you, the client approves the final revision.
Any errors found, please let us know immediately. We are able to reprint at an additional fee.
Reprints due to client error are placed at the back of the printing queue, we are able to prioritise reprints at an additional fee.
In any instance, the print is different to the proofs approved by you, Illustrated by Mel will cover the cost of reprints and delivering the item.

Shipping

It is the responsibility of the client to pay all customs and duties into the country. (International)
Please confirm with the customs service of the country we are shipping your order to.
Illustrated by Mel will not be responsible for any delays in deliveries caused by customs.
Illustrated by Mel will not be responsible for any delays in deliveries caused by couriers or Auspost.
Illustrated by Mel will not offer any refunds or exchanges for orders that do not make it to your required destination by a specific date.
All invoices are in AUD.
Illustrated by Mel are not responsible for any currerncy changes, bank charges or card charges.
